DISCOVER THE WONDER OF THE CAROLINA COAST WITH HANDS-ON
EDUCATIONAL CRUISES FOR GRADES K-12.
Carolina Ocean Studies programs are designed to help students see the wonder of science in the world around them. While all activities we do are fun, they
are also great ways for students to learn about the fascinating
and diverse ecology of coastal Carolina.
* Trips to remote islands and ocean reefs
* For groups of 30 to 100+ students
* Activities include fishing, digging for clams, beach exploration, using nets
in the salt march, pulling in crab pots, and searching through the haul of
a shrimp net.

of the National Estuarine Research Reserve Program. Activities include
pulling nets, clamming, crabbing, and exploring the marsh and beach. Three

Cape Fear Atlantic Voyage
This three hour trip goes from the Cape Fear
River to ships sunk 3 miles offshore. The ships form a reef
that creates a habitat for fish. Program includes fishing and
sorting through the catch of a shrimp trawl that we deploy.
Dolphins are often observed.
Taking kids fishing is one of the best ways to
get them excited about workings of ecosystems and to help them
appreciate conservation. We provide rods, tackle, and bait.
Our docks are located just a few minutes from
The North Carolina Aquarium, state parks, museums, and civil
war forts, and the USS Battleship North Carolina..
